Hostage crises are over

There had been 2 crises involving foreign journalists in Tripoli. The first crisis involved a group of about 30 journalists who had been trapped at the Rixos Hotel. Thankfully they were finally released unharmed. One of the women amongst those being held, a woman with an Arabic background helped to talk the men holding them hostage around. These men gave up their guns and walked out of the hotel with the group. It should be noted that the men in question were pro-regime, but they were mercenaries.

The second hostage situation involved the kidnap of 4 Italians. The original story said that they were taken from Zawiyah. The story is now a bit confusing because somehow or other they ended up at Gadhafi’s compound. They have also been released and they are unharmed.
